Taylor Swift is such a rebel
Taylor Swift leaving ABC Studios in New York (10/22)
Taylor Swift is so rebellious that one time she bought a Lexus. Believe the rumors, man. It’s true. This bitch is insane. Via the San Francisco Chronicle:
Taylor Swift used her first royalties checks to buy a car featured in the movie Mean Girls as a way of defying her own childhood tormentors. After leaving school and signing a record deal, Swift used her first wages to buy a Lexus SC430 convertible – the car driven by McAdams’ character in the movie – and the singer admits she deliberately bought the vehicle as an act of “rebellion.”
She tells the Guardian, “All the girls who were mean to me in middle school idolized The Plastics [in Mean Girls]. I think I chose that car as a kind of rebellion against that type of girl. It was like – you guys never invited me to anything, you guys are obsessed with that car and that girl and what The Plastics wear and how they talk and you quote them all the time, but I’ve been working really hard every single day. And instead of going to parties I’ve been writing songs and playing shows and getting really small paychecks that have added up and now I get to buy a car – and guess which one I’m going to buy? The one that the girl you idolize has.”
Whoa! See that, Occupy Wall Street pussies? That’s how the real 99% percenters roll, bitches. While you guys spent the summer of 2011 protesting the rich by camping in parks and raping the bejesus out of each other, Taylor’s anarchist heart showed us evil millionaires how to truly rebel against all that you hate: $70,000 cars, baby. Yeah, you’re not one of us, are you, Taylor? Just like Bono and Clan Baldwin. Now if you don’t mind, I just finished dropping a log and I need to find some poor sucker’s mortgage extension application to wipe my well-to-do bottom with.
