Simon Cowell is wise

Simon Cowell has no sympathy for Britney Spears

Shockingly, American Idol judge Simon Cowell has no sympathy for celebrities using rehab as a crutch–especially Britney Spears and Robbie Williams. Cowell calls Spears latest stretch in rehab “fashionable” and an “indulgence.” He feels the pop star should spend time with those less fortunate than her to reinforce just how good her life is. Cowell told the London Daily Mirror:

“I went to a deprived part of the world recently and saw a set of conditions that people live in that are beyond belief. When I hear about the Robbies and the Britneys going into rehab I think, ‘I’ll tell you what rehab is. Go to where I just went, where people really are suffering and then you’ll see just how good your life is.’”

“It’s very fashionable to be in rehab. This whole thing is a total indulgence. Britney and Robbie need to get a grip. We’ve allowed these people to feel sorry for themselves. I don’t know what’s going on in Britney’s head but my attitude is I couldn’t care less. She should go back and live with her mum for six months.” (Source)

Hell yeah it’s fashionable. You haven’t arrived in Hollywood until you’ve done 30 days in rehab. It’s one of the reasons I can’t take Tom Hanks seriously as an actor. Would it kill the guy to mix in the occasional three day/nine hooker coke-fueled bender? He could follow it up with the tearful apology and then the rehab stay. Bam, instant credibility. Plus–with their constant crying, shivering, and complaining–rehab chicks can be so hot!
